While she recognised that some advisers may be worried that the Fos representative they are speaking to is not as qualified as them to give advice, she said "the people they are speaking to are supposed to be resolving complaints.
"We are a dispute resolution service so we want to be experts in resolving complaints and finding a resolution as opposed to becoming professional advisers.
"I would like to reassure anybody listening that we would make sure that anybody dealing with a case about financial advice would have access to all the information they need to be able to resolve that case."
